F Residence – Farmhouse | 2/2 Architecturally,

F Residence – Farmhouse | 2/2

Architecturally, the F Residence draws inspiration from both Japanese minimalism and Filipino modern tropical design. Elevated on stilts, the structure appears to float effortlessly above the sloping ground, minimizing site disruption and enhancing ventilation. Upon entry, a large skylight floods the central hallway with daylight, creating a dramatic interplay of light and shadow.

Operable jalousie windows dominate the facade, strategically positioned to harness the Amihan (northeast trade winds) and facilitate natural cross-ventilation. Clerestory windows further enhance daylighting, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day. Wide roof eaves shield the interiors from harsh direct sunlight while still allowing diffused light to filter through.

F Residence – Farmhouse | 1/2

Perched amidst the verdant landscape of Nagdayao, Sibalom, the F Residence stands as a harmonious fusion of architecture and nature. Thoughtfully sited on a gently hilly terrain enveloped by mature trees and facing the east, the farmhouse embraces its natural context. Designed with deliberate orientation, the structure welcomes morning light and prevailing breezes, allowing the home to “breathe” with its environment—an embodiment of Pulseo Design Studio’s belief in responsive and climate-conscious architecture.

Architecturally, the F Residence draws inspiration from both Japanese minimalism and Filipino modern tropical design. Elevated on stilts, the structure appears to float effortlessly above the sloping ground, minimizing site disruption and enhancing ventilation. One of the key design challenges was ensuring security without compromising openness. The solution: custom sliding grills made from tubular steel that double as brise-soleil, offering both protection and architectural interest.

More than just a structure, the F Residence is designed to live, breathe, and grow with its users. It is a space shaped by nature, and in turn, shapes a more grounded and intentional lifestyle for its inhabitants.

✨ A cozy blend of taste and style — this café-boutique designed by Pulseo Design Studio brings together dining and retail in one thoughtfully crafted space.

Faced with limited natural light due to a narrow, enclosed entryway, we opened up the main interior and introduced pastel hues to brighten and soften the atmosphere. Glass blocks at the counter subtly diffuse light, while terracotta-finished walls add warmth and earthiness. Hand-painted murals give the space a personal, artistic touch, and terrazzo tiles ground the design with texture and movement.

More than just a place to eat or shop, it’s a space that invites connection. 🌸

The layout maximizes space efficiency, featuring a master bedroom and a dedicated helper’s room, while a strategically placed common toilet sits just outside, connected by a hallway for seamless accessibility.

An adjacent outdoor shower enhances convenience for guests returning from the beach, reinforcing the home’s seamless indoor-outdoor living experience.

Every element was designed with purpose, ensuring that despite its modest footprint, the house remains both comfortable and adaptable to its coastal environment.
