As VIVA ExCon Antique 2023 presents its 33rd edition entitled, “Suba sa Iraya,” DOCE Design + Build partook in the inner-works of the site-specific spaces for the festival.

        Timeworn edifices that echo distinct character and history where retrofitted, adapting a new function. The reimagined venue encourages communal interactions between individuals, their artistic inclinations, and the built-environment itself.

        Instilling the brief convened with the VIVA ExCon’s directors and curators, the design took the course of translating the festival’s theme, “Suba Sa Iraya”, into the architectural context concurred with materials of resiliency and regional textures.
